We are recruiting a WHSE Specialist – Risk to join its WHSE Governance & Assurance function. This is a specialist position focused on strengthening how safety risks are identified, assessed, controlled and governed across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and maintain WHSE safety risk management frameworks, methodologies, tools and governance processes.
- Lead and facilitate safety risk workshops, hazard studies and task-based or operational risk assessments.
- Facilitate Management of Change risk reviews across operational and technical environments.
- Identify and define critical controls for significant safety risks.
- Analyse WHSE and risk data to identify emerging risks, trends and control gaps.
- Provide clear risk reporting, insights and recommendations to leadership.
- Develop guidance materials, templates and training to improve consistency and risk literacy across the organisation.
- Tertiary qualification in WHSE, Safety Science, Risk Management, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation, applicable standards and contemporary safety risk-management principles.
- Demonstrated experience developing, implementing or improving safety risk-management frameworks.
- Strong understanding of critical control management and control-effectiveness assessment.
- Experience with bowtie or equivalent risk methodologies.

You will work closely with operational, engineering and leadership stakeholders to improve how significant safety risks are understood and controlled, while helping embed stronger risk ownership and decision-making across the business.
