Techforce is partnering with a well-establish organisation operating across complex engineering, industrial and project environments. The business operates across multiple sites and projects where strong safety governance, compliance and effective risk controls are critical.

As part of an ongoing focus on WHSE systems maturity and continuous improvement, we are recruiting a WHSE Assurance Specialist to join its Governance & Assurance function. This position will suit an experienced WHSE professional with a strong background in safety assurance, management systems, auditing and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain and continuously improve the organisation’s WHSE assurance framework and annual assurance plan.
  • Plan and deliver WHSE audits, compliance assessments, workplace inspections, field verifications and desktop assurance reviews.
  • Assess the effectiveness of safety controls, systems and processes against legislative, organisational and governance requirements.
  • Apply structured audit methodologies including planning, stakeholder interviews, sampling, evidence gathering and report writing.
  • Produce clear, evidence-based findings, recommendations and assurance reports.
  • Work with operational leaders and WHSE stakeholders to improve the quality and timely closure of corrective actions.
  • Coach and influence stakeholders to strengthen WHSE compliance, assurance capability and safety management system maturity.
The Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in WHSE, Occupational Health & Safety or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience within WHSE assurance, governance, systems or auditing roles.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and safety management system principles.
  • Demonstrated experience developing or delivering WHSE assurance and audit programs.
  • Strong capability across audit planning, interviewing, sampling, evidence collection and report writing.
Why Apply?
This is an opportunity to move beyond a traditional operational safety position and take ownership of WHSE assurance, governance and systems improvement within a large and technically complex organisation.

The role offers genuine exposure across assurance strategy, audit delivery, field verification, corrective action management and executive-level governance reporting.
