About the Role

We are seeking an experienced HSET Advisor who has come from an underground operating background and understands the realities of working underground. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who has operated in high-risk mining environments and can build credibility with crews through real operational experience.

You’ll play a key role supporting underground production teams through strong safety leadership, coaching, training, and compliance management while helping drive a proactive safety culture across site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide practical on-site HSET support across underground operations
  • Conduct underground inspections, audits, risk assessments, and safety interactions
  • Lead and support incident investigations (ICAM or similar)
  • Deliver toolbox talks, pre-starts, and frontline safety coaching
  • Deliver training, VOCs, assessments, and refresher programs underground
  • Support workforce competency, compliance, and training systems
  • Work closely with operational leaders to improve safety performance and behaviours
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across safety and training outcomes
About You
  • Previous underground operating experience is essential
  • Proven experience in an HSET / HSE Advisory role within underground mining
  • Strong understanding of underground mining hazards, equipment, and high-risk activities
  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE) – essential
  • Confident communicator who can engage crews and influence positive safety behaviours
  • Practical, hands-on approach with strong leadership presence underground
Requirements
  • Cert IV in Work Health & Safety (or equivalent)
  • Cert IV in Training & Assessment (essential)
  • Previous underground mining operational experience – essential
  • ICAM (or similar) highly regarded
  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • Ability to pass medical and Drug & Alcohol Screen
