Join a major open-cut mining operation in WA’s South West as a Training Coordinator and play a key role in ensuring workforce competency, compliance, and operational readiness. This is a great opportunity for a qualified and proactive training professional with mining or heavy industry experience to contribute to a high-performing site team.
About the Role
In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing and supporting all aspects of site-based training and development activities, from onboarding and inductions through to coordinating technical and compliance-based courses. You will work closely with operational teams, contractors, and management to deliver safe, effective, and compliant workforce training in line with both internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Planning, scheduling, and delivering site-based and off-site training to meet operational demands
- Conducting onboarding inductions for new personnel and contractors, including e-learning modules
- Maintaining training records, competency matrices, and training needs analysis
- Supporting Supervisors and Managers with training advice and workforce development planning
- Ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and internal systems
- Liaising with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) and coordinating external courses
- Actively promoting a positive safety culture through training and mentoring
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience delivering training in mining, heavy industry, or related environments
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40116 or equivalent)
- Certificate IV in Leadership & Management (preferred but not essential)
- Strong understanding of WHS legislation and statutory training compliance
- Proficiency with training systems and record management (e.g. INX, LMS, or similar platforms)
- Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder engagement skills
- A valid WA “C” Class Driver’s Licence
- Stable, Monday–Friday roster in a South West regional location
