We are recruiting a Senior Development Engineer, responsible for the development, testing and optimisation of advanced engine systems. This is a hands-on technical role suited to an experienced engineer from an automotive, aerospace, marine, motorsport or specialist engine-development environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and undertake engine development, testing and optimisation activities.
- Conduct steady-state and transient engine testing across a range of operating conditions.
- Perform combustion analysis using high-speed data acquisition systems.
- Optimise engine operation using dynamometer and representative load testing.
- Develop and optimise speed control, load control and engine operating functions.
- Support calibration and optimisation of sensors, actuators and engine diagnostics.
- Review test and operational log data to identify performance improvements.
- Degree qualification in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Aerospace, Electronics or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent relevant industry experience.
- Approximately 5–10 years’ relevant experience in engine development, testing or calibration.
- Demonstrated experience with base engine calibration or engine performance development.
- Experience working with ECU software, embedded controls or engine-management systems.
This is an opportunity to take significant technical ownership within a specialist engineering environment where engine development, testing and real-world product performance are closely connected.
The role offers genuine hands-on involvement across engine testing, combustion analysis, calibration, ECU controls, diagnostics, data analysis and product validation, while also providing the opportunity to influence development methods and technical processes.
