About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a Safety & Training Coordinator with solid underground mining experience to play a key role in supporting safe and efficient operations on site. You’ll be responsible for coordinating training, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and actively promoting a strong safety culture that supports both people and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and coordinate site training, inductions, and competency assessments for underground personnel
- Monitor daily operations for compliance with safety systems, policies, and statutory requirements
- Conduct audits, inspections, and incident investigations with a focus on continuous improvement
- Support the implementation and review of the site Safety Management System
- Maintain accurate training and safety records, including up-to-date competencies and matrices
- Coach and mentor employees and supervisors on safety leadership and risk management
- Collaborate with site and project leadership to address key safety and training priorities
You’re an approachable professional who combines practical underground experience with strong communication and coaching skills. You’ll bring a proactive mindset and the ability to influence and guide teams on the ground.
Essential skills and attributes include:
- Proven experience working in underground mining operations
- Qualifications in Work Health & Safety and Training & Assessment (minimum Cert IV TAE)
- Practical understanding of mining safety systems, legislation, and compliance requirements
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- A proactive, hands-on approach to maintaining a safe workplace
- Current driver’s licence and ability to work a 14:14 roster
