This role requires not only technical expertise but a strong commitment to safety, respectful workplace behaviours, and collaboration with the geological team to ensure drilling meets sample quality and geological interpretation standards.
Responsibilities
- Operate RC drill rigs productively in accordance with safe work instructions to drilling projects
- Ensure all drilling meets quality standards, including sample recovery, contamination control, and depth accuracy
- Provide feedback to geology teams on ground conditions, sample issues, or observed lithology during drilling
- Direct supervision of the trainee Drillers and Drilling Offsiders
- Perform minor maintenance tasks and basic troubleshooting to ensure equipment reliability and minimise downtime, escalating major issues promptly
- Maintain equipment logs, service schedules, and shift reports
- Set the standard for safety first and promote a positive team environment
About You
- HR drivers’ licence (minimum)
- 5 years RC Drilling experience (minimum)
- Hold Certificate III in Drilling Operations (or higher)
- Experience in working in remote areas
- Schedule 26 Qualification (desirable but not required)
- Certificate IV Training & Assessment (desirable)
