Due to continued growth, our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager
to join their team and play a key role in delivering complex and technically challenging projects.
This is a hands-on project management position suited to someone who thrives in a technical manufacturing environment, enjoys building strong customer relationships, and takes ownership of projects from commencement through to successful delivery.
As a Project Manager, you will manage a diverse portfolio of projects ranging from smaller production-focused jobs through to large-scale, multi-disciplinary manufacturing programs involving suppliers, subcontractors and key stakeholders. You will act as the critical link between customers and Axiom’s engineering, manufacturing, quality and purchasing teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage projects from initial setup through to final delivery
- Develop and maintain project schedules, tracking progress against milestones
- Monitor project budgets, actual costs and potential cost impacts
- Coordinate engineering, manufacturing, quality, purchasing, suppliers and subcontractors
- Maintain strong customer relationships and provide regular project updates
- Manage supplier and subcontractor quotations, purchasing costs and delivery performance
- Identify project risks and implement practical solutions to keep projects on track
- Review technical drawings, specifications and documentation, ensuring requirements are communicated effectively
- Prepare clear verbal and written project reports
- Manage project scope, priorities and change throughout the project lifecycle
- Work closely with workshop and technical teams to identify constraints and maintain project momentum
About You:
We are looking for a proactive and solutions-focused professional who can confidently manage both the technical and commercial aspects of project delivery.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Demonstrated experience managing complex projects, programs or manufacturing activities
- Strong organisational, planning and prioritisation skills
- Experience using MS Project or similar project management software
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proven ability to identify issues early and implement effective solutions
- Experience managing budgets, costs and project expenditure
- Supplier, procurement and subcontractor management experience
- Ability to interpret technical documentation and communicate information clearly
- Practical understanding of manufacturing processes and project execution
Candidates with experience in machining, fabrication, engineering, manufacturing, production, CNC operations, tool making, drafting, or another relevant technical field, would be highly regarded.
Previous Project Management experience is preferred, however, applicants with strong project leadership experience in engineering, manufacturing or production environments will also be considered. A formal Project Management qualification is advantageous but not essential.
