We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Payroll Manager to join our Finance team in a full-time ongoing position commencing immediately.  
Based in the Perth CBD and reporting to the Company Accountant, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading a small payroll team processing payroll for 800+ candidates weekly, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing and maintaining of payroll records and systems.  
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following attributes: 

  • Sound experience processing an 800+ payroll 
  • 3+ years leadership experience in payroll operations 
  • Payroll experience in labour hire would be an advantage 
  • Sound knowledge of EBA’s, Awards, taxation and superannuation requirements 
  • Experience with payroll systems such as Astute or similar 
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and maintain accuracy under pressure 
  • Be committed to working in an office-based environment and to work cohesively within a small team, prioritising tasks and able to work effectively under pressure during processing days.

Your duties will include: 
  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the payroll team to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.  
  • Review weekly payroll 
  • Provide hands-on support with complex payroll tasks 
  • Processing expense reimbursements 
  • Mentor, train and develop our payroll team 
  • Investigate, address, and resolve payroll-related enquiries from candidates and clients. 
  • Manage lodgment and compliance with Superannuation, STP and Long Service Leave 
  • Ensuring compliance with payroll legislation, including Fair Work, PAYG, Superannuation, and STP 
  • Ensuring compliance with data protection regulations and internal control standards 
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements 
  • Communicate with stakeholders to ensure smooth payroll process and operations
