This is a contract-based FIFO 2:1 role until May 2026, offering an exciting opportunity to make a real impact on world-class facilities.
About the Role:
As the Mechanical Project Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of managing mechanical, hydraulic, and fire systems—including gas suppression—through construction and commissioning. Your expertise will ensure our projects meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance with Australian codes.
What You’ll Do:
- Oversee mechanical, hydraulic, and fire systems scope
- Lead subcontractor management and coordinate multidisciplinary teams
- Provide technical support during construction and commissioning
- Ensure adherence to project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations
- Facilitate seamless communication across disciplines
- 4-5 years’ experience in mechanical engineering within construction or commissioning
- Strong knowledge of Australian standards and codes for mechanical and fire systems
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Valid White Card and driver’s license
- Ability to pass FIFO medicals and site inductions
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Experience in remote/FIFO projects
- Proficiency with mechanical design and commissioning tools
- Proven track record managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams
- Familiarity with document control, QA/QC processes
- Experience with AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Office suite
