Lead Scheduler | Major Defence Program

The Opportunity
Are you a seasoned scheduler who excels at integrating complex project data and mentoring a team to deliver with precision? We're looking for a Lead Scheduler to drive the development and maintenance of critical schedules for a landmark Australian defence program. You'll be the linchpin that connects multiple project schedules into a fully Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), guiding a team of schedulers and solving complex data integration challenges. If you thrive on detailed schedule analysis and enjoy leading a team to achieve collective success, this role offers a significant impact on a program of national importance.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, progress, and report on assigned high-level project schedules, ensuring their seamless integration into the program's IMS.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to a team of project schedulers, overseeing the quality and integration of their subordinate schedules.
  • Act as a key point of contact for schedule integration, liaising with stakeholders across multiple organisations to solve data misalignments and resolve issues.
  • Proactively analyse schedule performance, identify potential risks or delays, and work with project teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Assist in the continuous improvement of scheduling processes, procedures, and tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency across the program.
  • Collaborate with the broader project team to ensure all schedule activities align with technical, commercial, and quality assurance requirements.

About You
  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining complex schedules in a project environment (defence, shipbuilding, or heavy engineering highly regarded).
  • Advanced, hands-on proficiency with Primavera P6 is essential.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, or provide guidance to other schedulers in a collaborative team environment.
  • A clear and effective communicator, comfortable liaising with a wide range of stakeholders across different levels and organisations.
  • A proactive problem-solver with a strong continuous improvement mindset.
  • Must be eligible to obtain an Australian Department of Defence security clearance to NV1.

What’s on Offer
  • Competitive Salary Package: A base salary of $130,000 - $145,000 + Superannuation, dependent on experience.
  • Relocation Support: Interstate candidates are encouraged to apply, with relocation assistance available for the right person.
  • Program Impact: Play a crucial role in a long-term, nationally significant defence program.
  • Career Development: Join a supportive and experienced team with clear opportunities for professional growth and mentoring.
