The Opportunity
Our client is a rapidly expanding Tier 2 Civil & Mining Contractor. They are winning major projects and moving up the industry food chain. With that growth comes increased exposure.

They are seeking an HSEQ Manager who understands that safety is not just about compliance—it is about Corporate Risk and commercial sustainability.

The Role
Reporting directly to the Executive Leadership Team, you will own the Group HSEQ strategy. This is a blend of high-level governance and operational influence. You are the barrier between the business and significant liability.
  • Corporate Risk Management: You aren't just looking at LTIs; you are analyzing enterprise risk, legal liability, and regulatory exposure. You provide the Board with the data they need to make safe, commercial decisions.
  • System Ownership: You own the Integrated Management System (IMS). You ensure the business maintains its ISO certifications and OFSC accreditation (crucial for their Civil tender eligibility).
  • Audit & Governance: You lead the internal and external audit programs. You don't wait for a regulator to find a gap; you find it first.
  • Tender Strategy: You play a key role in winning work by ensuring the HSEQ management plans in bids are watertight and attractive to Tier 1 clients.
About You

You are a Senior HSEQ professional currently working in the Construction, Civil, or Mining sectors. You have moved past being a "site safety officer" and view HSEQ through a commercial and legal lens.
  • You have specific experience managing Corporate Risk. You know how to structure frameworks that protect the directors and the company entity.
  •  Strong experience with OFSC (Federal Safety Commissioner) schemes is highly regarded. You know what is required to maintain accreditation in a high-risk Civil environment.
  • You have the Lead Auditor qualifications and the technical legislative knowledge to debate with regulators and win.
  • You are proactive, not reactive. You can engage with a Boardroom just as effectively as you can with a Project Manager on site.
The Setup
  • Base: Perth based office.
  • Travel: Regular site visits (WA wide) are required to audit performance and drive culture. You cannot manage risk from a spreadsheet; you need to see the reality on the ground.
The Reward
  • Commensurate with the strategic importance of this role.
  • Direct line to the owners/executives.
  • The ability to shape the safety culture of a growing Tier 2 contractor.
