HSE Advisor | Weipa | FIFO 2:1 | Immediate Start

About the Opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated HSE Advisor for an immediate start on a FIFO 2:1 roster to Weipa.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established contractor delivering construction and maintenance services across the mining and resources sector.
Reporting to the HSE Superintendent, you will play a key role in supporting the health, safety, and environmental performance of operations across a diverse range of projects and maintenance activities.

Working closely with multidisciplinary teams across mechanical, plumbing, electrical, building, and civil disciplines, you will provide expert advice, ensure legislative compliance, conduct audits and inspections, and champion a strong safety culture throughout the workforce.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide practical HSE advice and support to operational teams.
  • Conduct workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
  • Promote and maintain a positive safety culture across all work areas.
  • Lead and participate in incident investigations and corrective actions.
  • Monitor compliance with WHS legislation, environmental requirements, and company procedures.
  • Facilitate toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training initiatives.
  • Assist in the development and continuous improvement of HSE systems and processes.
  • Build strong working relationships with employees, supervisors, and management.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
Essential:
  • Certificate IV in Occupational Health & Safety.
  • Demonstrated experience in a field-based HSE role within mining, construction, or heavy industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and environmental management practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to influence, coach, and engage teams at all levels.
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence.
Desirable:
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
  • ICAM Investigation Training.
  • Previous experience in a FIFO environment.
