The Opportunity:
We are currently seeking a motivated HSE Advisor with 3 years of experience, preferably with exposure to Rio Tinto and Roy Hill operations, to join our team on a 4/3 roster. This role involves a balanced focus on both documentation, planning, and procedural development, as well as conducting investigations, facilitating toolbox talks, and providing on-site advisory support. Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively prioritize actions within a commercial environment are essential. This position is available immediately and represents an excellent opportunity to advance your career in health, safety, and environment advisory.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, review, and maintain health, safety, and environmental documentation, procedures, and plans to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct thorough incident investigations and root cause analysis, preparing detailed reports and recommending corrective actions.
- Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings, and training sessions to promote a strong safety culture among on-site personnel.
- Provide proactive, on-the-ground safety advice and support to operational teams, ensuring safe work practices are followed.
- Monitor workplace conditions and conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with management and team members to develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives in health and safety performance.
- Assist in the coordination of audits, inspections, and compliance activities with internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to safety performance, incidents, and compliance activities.
About You
- Cert IV OH&S (minimum)
- FIFO construction experience is highly desirable
- White Card
- 3 years' minimum experience in a mining based HSE Advisor role
- Current First Aid & CPR
- National Police Check or ability to obtain
- RIO/BHP/FMG/Roy Hill current inductions (highly preferrable)
- Minimum intermediate level across the Microsoft office suite of programs
