Brisbane CBD | $130,000–$140,000 + Super | Regular Site Travel
An excellent opportunity is available for an experienced HR Business Partner to join a large, established organisation operating across the Australian mining and resources sector.
Based in Brisbane CBD, this role will partner closely with operational leaders and site-based teams, providing practical, commercially focused HR support across a diverse workforce. This is a hands-on HRBP position suited to someone who enjoys being close to the operation, can build credibility with site leaders and is confident navigating complex employee relations matters.
The Role Working as a trusted partner to operational leadership, you will provide advice and support across the full employee lifecycle, with a particular focus on employee relations, performance, workforce matters and building strong relationships between corporate and site teams.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing high-quality HR and employee relations advice to leaders and managers
- Managing and supporting complex ER matters, including investigations, performance management and disciplinary processes
- Coaching leaders to effectively manage people and workplace issues
- Building strong, trusted relationships with operational and site-based stakeholders
- Supporting workforce planning and broader people initiatives
- Interpreting employment legislation, policies, procedures and industrial instruments
- Identifying workforce trends and providing practical HR solutions
- Supporting organisational change and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintaining accurate HR documentation, records and reporting
- Working collaboratively with the broader People & Culture team to deliver consistent HR practices across the business
- Travelling to operational sites approximately once every four weeks
You will ideally bring:
- Demonstrated experience as an HR Business Partner, Senior HR Advisor or similar
- Strong employee relations and case management experience
- Previous experience within mining, resources, construction, heavy industry or another operational environment will be highly regarded
- Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation and contemporary HR practices
- Experience working with geographically dispersed or site-based workforces
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to build credibility with operational leaders
- Strong attention to detail and sound judgement
- A practical, solutions-focused approach to HR
- The flexibility to respond to operational and site requirements outside traditional office hours when required
- Willingness and ability to undertake regular site travel
- $130,000–$140,000 + superannuation
