As an Estimator, you will play a key role in the pre-construction process by preparing accurate cost estimates, managing tender submissions, and supporting project teams with budgeting and cost value solutions.
Key responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for residential new custom builds, renovations, extensions, and alterations.
- Review and interpret architectural drawings, engineering plans, specifications, and construction documentation.
- Complete quantity take-offs and develop comprehensive cost breakdowns.
- Obtain, assess, and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Prepare tender submissions, budgets, and cost plans.
- Update estimates and budgets as project designs and scopes evolve.
- Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to validate pricing and manage cost risks.
- Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving initiatives.
- Maintain estimating databases, cost libraries, and supplier pricing information.
- Monitor project cost performance and contribute to post-project reviews.
- Assist with continuous improvement of estimating systems and processes.

Essential skills & experience:
- Proven experience estimating residential construction projects, particularly renovations, extensions, and bespoke homes.
- Strong skills in quantity take-offs, cost planning, and tender preparation.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings and specifications.
- Experience using estimating software and construction management platforms.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and general computer skills.
- Sound knowledge of local construction methods, building regulations, and market rates within South Australia.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Current Australian working rights.
- Qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Estimating, Building, or a related field.
- Previous experience in high-end residential construction, custom homes, or bespoke renovation projects.
