About the Role

We are looking for a versatile Estimate & Design Manager to join our Asset Maintenance division. Reporting to the Manager Commercial and Industrial, this is a broad and pivotal leadership role that bridges the gap between commercial strategy and technical execution.

You will manage the full lifecycle of scaffolding tenders while overseeing the output of our design team. Your goal is to ensure our access solutions are not only safe and compliant with Australian Standards but also commercially viable and operationally buildable.

Key Responsibilities

- Estimating & Tendering: Manage the enquiry-to-submission lifecycle, developing detailed costings, pricing models, and commercial submissions for labour, equipment, and logistics.

- Design Oversight: Supervise the internal design team, ensuring practical scaffold designs are produced on time and align with inventory availability.

- Operational Support: Bridge the gap between the office and the yard/site by ensuring clear design briefings, seamless project handovers, and technical support during execution.

- Team Leadership: Mentor a small team of estimators and designers, fostering a high-performance culture and driving collaboration.

- Commercial Risk: Identify risks in tender documents and ensure compliance with SRG Global protocols and contract requirements.

What We Are Looking For

Because this role covers both commercial and technical ground, we are looking for a well-rounded professional who can adapt to different challenges. You may be an Estimator looking to take on design management, or a Designer looking to step into commercial leadership.

Ideally, your background will include:

- Industry Experience: A strong history in scaffolding estimating, design management, or a related construction/engineering field (10+ years is preferred).

- Technical Knowledge: A solid understanding of various access systems (e.g., Tube & Fit, Ringlock, Layher, Modular) and how they come together on site.

- Digital Proficiency: Comfort with design software (such as AutoCAD, Revit, or LayPlan) and strong Excel skills for pricing models.

- Commercial Mindset: An ability to read contracts, understand P&L impacts, and balance cost against quality.

- Leadership Potential: The ability to lead a team, manage workflows, and deliver to tight deadlines in a high-volume environment.

- Qualifications: A trade background or tertiary qualification in construction or engineering is highly regarded.
