Environmental Officer
The Opportunity
Are you a passionate environmental professional ready to be the critical link between major industrial operations and sustainable practice? We’re looking for a hands-on Environmental Officer to be the on-the-ground guardian of our client's environmental commitments in the Collie region. You’ll be responsible for executing the monitoring programs and managing the data that drives their sustainability strategy, ensuring compliance at every step. If you enjoy applying your technical knowledge in a dynamic field environment, this role puts you at the center of delivering key environmental outcomes.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Execute field-based environmental monitoring programs, including water sampling, dust monitoring, and site inspections.
- Drive on-site environmental compliance, ensuring daily operations adhere to all policies, procedures, and license conditions.
- Manage and interpret environmental data, preparing accurate reports and highlighting trends for the management team.
- Conduct regular site inspections and participate in internal audits to identify potential risks and drive continuous improvement.
- Liaise with operational teams to provide clear guidance and support, fostering a strong culture of environmental awareness.
- A tertiary degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or a closely related discipline is essential.
- At least one year of professional experience in a similar role is preferred; however, passionate recent graduates with relevant internship experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
- A non-negotiable commitment to upholding the highest safety standards in all work practices.
- Effective time management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage a consistent workload in both field and office environments.
- Competitive Hourly Rate: A strong rate of $51 per hour + superannuation.
- Stable Local Role: A full-time, Monday to Friday position (approx. 42 hours/week) based in the Collie region.
