An opportunity is available for an experienced Drill Fitter to join an established open cut coal operation in the Bowen Basin on a permanent full time basis.
The role covers scheduled maintenance, breakdown response and component changeouts on the drill fleet, working as part of the site maintenance team.
The role

- Bus or Drive from Mackay or Townsville
- Camp accommodation, meals and site transport provided
- Annual leave, sick leave and ongoing training support
- Scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on the production drill fleet
- Breakdown response and fault finding, both in the field and in the workshop
- Component changeouts including rotary heads, masts, compressors, feed systems and drill strings
- Hydraulic system maintenance, hose repairs and cylinder changeouts
- Compressor and air system servicing
- Dust suppression and ancillary system maintenance
- Defect identification, reporting and maintenance record keeping
- Compliance with site isolation, tagging and the Coal Mining Safety and Health Act and Regulation
- Trade certificate in Heavy Diesel Fitting, Mobile Plant Mechanics or equivalent (AQF Cert III)
- Demonstrated experience maintaining production drills on a mine site
- Strong hydraulic and mechanical fault finding ability
- Current C class driver's licence
- Coal Board Medical, current or willing to obtain
- Standard 11 Generic Induction, current or willing to obtain
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screen
- Epiroc, Sandvik, Cubex or Schramm drill experience
- Field service or mobile maintenance background
- Blasthole drill experience in coal or metalliferous operations
- Working at Heights, Confined Space or EWP tickets
- Rigging, dogging or EWP tickets
- Auto electrical or dual trade exposure
