We are a leading engineering and project delivery group based in Perth, specialising in critical power, energy, and industrial infrastructure. Due to an expanding portfolio of major projects, we are looking for a highly technical Electrical Revit Designer to join our team.
The Role:
Working closely with our multidisciplinary engineering team, you will take ownership of the 3D modelling and 2D documentation for large-scale power generation and HV/LV electrical systems. We are looking for a technical specialist who takes pride in creating highly coordinated, clash-free models and extraction-ready drawing packages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage detailed 3D Revit models for electrical infrastructure, including plant rooms, diesel generator setups, and HV/MV/LV switchgear.
- Accurately route and model cable trays, penetrations, containments, and complex equipment layouts while ensuring proper access and clearance zones.
- Extract high-quality 2D documentation (schematics, SLDs, layouts) from 3D models for IFC/IFA/IFR issue.
- Lead clash detection and coordination with mechanical/piping disciplines (Navisworks experience is highly advantageous).
- Maintain and optimize BIM models, including managing Revit worksets, families, templates, and ensuring strict adherence to BIM execution plans.
- Proactively identify constructability issues during the design phase and collaborate with engineers to find practical solutions.
- Extensive, hands-on experience using Revit MEP for electrical design within the industrial, power generation, or heavy commercial sectors.
- Proven ability to model complex electrical rooms, substations, transformers, and switchboards.
- A strong technical understanding of Australian electrical standards, specifications, and drawing control procedures.
- Highly autonomous with the ability to manage your own workflow, prioritize deliverables, and maintain a low-rework, high-accuracy output.
- Experience with Navisworks (Clash Detection) and multi-disciplinary coordination is highly regarded.
- Bonus points if you have experience automating drafting processes (e.g., Dynamo, VBA) or working in EPC/EPCM environments.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of the BIM/Revit process within a stable, growing business. You will work on technically challenging, tangible power projects within a supportive team that values precision and innovation.
