We’re looking for a highly skilled specialist to join a mining maintenance team in the Goldfields, focusing on complex diagnostics, troubleshooting and major component repairs across a large-scale mining fleet.
This role is ideal for an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic or Digger Specialist with strong technical knowledge of hydraulic excavators, who can diagnose complex faults, improve equipment reliability and provide specialist support to site maintenance teams.

- Perform advanced diagnostics, fault-finding and troubleshooting on large hydraulic excavators.
- Identify and rectify complex mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and control system faults.
- Provide specialist technical support across Liebherr and Hitachi excavator fleets.
- Investigate recurring faults and implement solutions to improve machine availability and reliability.
- Carry out major component change-outs, repairs and technical investigations.
- Support and mentor maintenance teams, sharing specialist knowledge and improving diagnostic capability.
- Work closely with supervisors and site maintenance teams to improve maintenance strategies and equipment performance.
- Minimum 5 years' post-trade experience maintaining heavy earthmoving equipment.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Liebherr and Hitachi hydraulic excavators is essential.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems.
- Experience with major component change-outs, fault analysis and complex repairs.
- Australian-recognised Mobile Plant Mechanic or Heavy Diesel Fitter trade qualification.
- Previous experience as a Digger Specialist, Technical Specialist, Field Service Technician or Senior HD Fitter is highly regarded.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to provide technical guidance to maintenance teams.
- Excavators: Liebherr R9400, Hitachi EX2600, EX1900 and EX900-6, Komatsu PC1250, CAT 374.
- Haul trucks: CAT 789, 785, 777 and 773; Hitachi EH3500.
- Dozers: CAT D10T and D10T2.
- Loaders: CAT 992 and 992G.
- Graders: CAT 16M and 18M.
