The Opportunity:
Are you a decisive and hands-on Civil Supervisor ready for a high-impact, short-term contract? We have an urgent and critical opportunity at an FMG site to lead a specific package of work from start to finish. For a duration of three 3-week swings (3 and 1 roster), you will be the key on-site leader, taking full ownership of the safe and efficient delivery of crucial foundation works for a major powerline project. This is a role for a technically proficient supervisor who thrives on autonomy and delivering results in a dynamic site environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Direct On-Site Execution: Oversee all civil activities related to the re-drilling of approximately 50 powerline pole holes and the subsequent concrete foundation pours, ensuring work is completed to specification.
  • Champion Site Safety: Drive a zero-harm culture by leading daily pre-starts, conducting risk assessments (JHAs/Take 5s), and managing all required work permits (e.g., Excavation, Hot Work).
  • Coordinate Key Trades: Manage and coordinate all involved parties on-site, including drilling contractors, concrete suppliers, and survey teams, to ensure a seamless workflow.
  • Uphold Quality Standards: Conduct all necessary quality assurance checks, including pre-pour inspections, reinforcement verification, and concrete testing to meet FMG standards.
  • Provide Clear Reporting: Deliver daily and weekly progress updates to the Project Manager, highlighting achievements, identifying any risks, and ensuring transparent communication.
  • On-the-Ground Problem Solving: Act as the first point of contact for any on-site technical issues, providing practical solutions to keep the project on schedule and within scope.

About You / Requirements:
  • Formal Credentials: A current and valid Section 26 (S26) Statutory Supervisor qualification is essential for this role.
  • Core Experience: Demonstrated experience as a Civil Supervisor with a strong background in earthworks, drilling/piling, and concrete foundation works within a mining or heavy-civil environment.
  • Leadership Impact: Proven ability to lead and manage contractors effectively, ensuring productivity and safety compliance in a remote site environment.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: A proactive and solution-oriented mindset with the ability to troubleshoot on-site issues independently.
  • Availability: You must be available to commence a 3 x 3 week assignment starting on or around August 5th.
Advantageous Background:
  • A current and valid FMG Induction is highly desirable and will be prioritized.
  • Previous direct experience on FMG sites
  • Specific experience with foundation works for powerline or transmission line projects.
  • Ability to interpret geotechnical data or reports related to drilling conditions.
